Fog, Fog… Foggy

We have been trying to get tickets to go up the Washington Monument, and of course the one time we finally get to go we can’t even see the top. It was a fun adventure out with the Littles. Our kind of adventure day… family, fun, and a little learning along the way! I love getting out and having new fun experiences with the Littles! I would say 10/10 worth the time if you get the chance to go. It was really fun seeing all the plaques on the inside walls that helped pay for the monuments construction.

Fun fact we learned, is the project ran out of money, then ran out of money and stone, and then was completed. So as you look up you will see three different stones on the outside. The first is where they ran out of money during the civil war, the second they ran out of money and the same stone, and the third is the last stone needed. It is made to attempt to blend in, so the middle section connects the two other colors. Locals try to say that was the flood line in the great flood of DC, but we got that debunked! I love talking with Rangers and finding local fun tidbits! My Littles are great at asking a lot of questions.

The End… Until Next Time
